01 — FIRST, I UNDERSTAND
Knowing English and speaking English can feel like two different things.
Maybe you can understand videos, read articles, and follow conversations — but when it's your turn to speak, everything suddenly feels harder. You are not alone in that experience.
You know the words, but they disappear when someone asks you a question.
You spend so much time planning what to say that the moment passes.
You want every word, verb, and sentence to sound right before you speak.
You feel uncomfortable about your accent or what other people might think.
The goal isn't to wait until these feelings disappear. It's to learn how to speak even when they show up.
02 — MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY
I teach communication, not perfection.
Grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and listening all matter. I simply don't believe they should become barriers that stop you from using English today.
You can improve while you speak.
I want you to learn how to explain an idea when you forget a word, ask for clarification when you don't understand, and stay in the conversation when you make a mistake.
We build those skills through useful, manageable speaking practice — not by expecting you to memorise everything first.
Because the most important thing isn't sounding perfect. It's finding the confidence to express yourself.
03 — THE METHOD
Four small steps. One more confident voice.
Whether you're using one of my guided resources, taking a course, or working with me privately, I want learning to feel practical, supportive and achievable.
Start speaking
Use the words and structures you already know. Start with short, low-pressure speaking activities and build from there.
Build confidence
Practise consistently in manageable steps. Become more comfortable speaking, even when you're unsure.
Develop your skills
Work on the vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and communication strategies that help you express your ideas more clearly.
Reflect and grow
Notice what felt easier, identify what to practise next, and recognise progress that goes beyond being mistake-free.
You don't have to feel confident before you start speaking. Speaking is one of the ways you build confidence.
04 — EXPERIENCE THE METHOD
Let's practise together. Right now.
Here's a little example of how I encourage students to think differently about speaking. There's no grade, no pressure, and no need to get everything right.
INTERACTIVE MINI LESSON
What would you do next?
Imagine you're speaking English and suddenly forget a word. What would you try?
For example, if you forget “receipt”, you can say: “The paper they give you when you pay for something.”
A SMALL COURAGE ACTION
Speak for 30 seconds.
Describe your favourite place. Where is it? What does it look like? Why do you enjoy being there? If you forget a word, describe it another way and keep going.
Speak aloud — you can use the timer or optionally record and listen back.
If you choose to record, your browser will ask for microphone permission. This activity does not upload or save your recording to my website; your recording disappears when you leave or refresh the page. Microphone access requires a compatible secure browser.
05 — WHAT LEARNING CAN LOOK LIKE
Practical learning, with space to make mistakes.
I want you to spend less time wondering whether you are ready to speak and more time actually communicating. Here's the kind of learning process I aim to create.
Begin where you are
Choose a familiar topic, notice what you can already express, and identify where you hesitate. No need to impress anyone.
Practise useful English
Speak about real situations, everyday experiences and your own ideas — not only grammar exercises with one correct answer.
Get the guidance you need
Learn practical ways to keep speaking, choose clearer expressions, and improve accuracy. Feedback depends on the resource or coaching option you choose.
Try again and notice progress
Repeat, reflect and compare. Sometimes progress means speaking for longer, recovering after a mistake, or simply feeling a little more relaxed.
06 — THE PERSON BEHIND THE METHOD
Hello, I'm Adriana.
I'm an English speaking confidence coach, and I believe that every English learner deserves to feel heard.
I know what it's like to learn another language.
I'm originally from Australia, and I also speak Croatian. Living in another country and communicating in another language have taught me how important it is to keep going even when you don't have the perfect words.
Through English with Adriana, I've helped learners practise their English through my videos, resources and teaching. My goal isn't to turn everyone into a perfect speaker. It's to help you become a more comfortable, capable communicator.
I'll encourage you to start, support you as you improve, and remind you that your voice deserves to be heard along the way.

08 — A FEW QUESTIONS
Questions you might be asking.
Do I need good grammar before I start speaking?
No. You can practise speaking with the grammar you already know and improve your accuracy along the way. You don't need to wait until everything is perfect.
What if I'm shy or afraid of making mistakes?
That's exactly why I focus on confidence as well as language skills. We start with achievable activities and gradually make speaking feel more familiar. Feeling nervous doesn't mean you can't make progress.
Will you help me improve my pronunciation?
Yes, pronunciation is an important part of clear communication. My approach prioritises being understood rather than trying to erase your accent. Different courses and coaching options focus on different skills.
Do I have to book private lessons to learn with you?
Not at all. You can begin with the free Confidence Reset or choose a self-study programme. Private coaching is available if you'd like more personalised support and feedback.
Is this approach suitable for beginners?
You can benefit from confidence-building habits at any level. Most of my speaking-confidence resources are especially useful if you already understand some English but hesitate when it's time to speak. Absolute beginners may first need more foundational language practice.
